Jaca 2018 Week 1 Day 2

Day 2 started brighter but weather briefing put paid to our optimism so we took the opportunity to quiz Serge on the finer points of understanding the tephigram as there was no rush. Meanwhile the upper cloud slowly thickened cutting off any prospect of flying and it was soon raining heavily.

Still that gave us another opportunity to sample the lunchtime Menu del Dia.

The rain passed through mid afternoon and it brightened up for a short period but with a low cloud base, so it wasn't really worth the price of a launch.

Bob and Charlie walked back to the village and made the most of the brief spell of sunshine. This gave an opportunity to examine the significant progress that has been made on the new motorway along the length of the Jacatania valley which had stalled for a number of years.  Several bridges have now been built including the one for access to the airfield.

Everyone was invited to dinner at the instructors apartment where Mike served up his excellent chicken curry followed by strawberries and ice cream.
